John Norris of Penrith is the nearest LARGE tackle shop. Good place to stop if travelling from the south. About 1 hour short of the Annan - also HUGE mail order business

Glasgow Angling Centre's Fishing Megastore at Unit 1, The Point Retail Park, 29 Saracen Street, Port Dundas, Glasgow G22 5HT. You don't just pop in for a few flies, you wander about for an hour or two with a silly look on your face!!!

As seen in many, many articles in the angling magazines.They can tie anything, and have most flies in stock, but they do need notice for anything unusual. Incidentally don't try to find the place without clear directions. I did once and spent a good hour driving round some - admittedly picturesque - back roads!!

FIVE separate ponds for Fly fishing and one for Coarse fishing, ample parking and disabled access. Open 9am til dark.

The Moffat Fishery (WEBSITE UNDER CONSTRUCTION) has been re opened by the new owners under the name The Hammerlands Centre, Moffat Tel: 01683 221220.

It has been completely modernised. The three ponds have been cleaned out and restocked. The 4 1/2 acre one stocked with Rainbows of 2 1/2 pounds plus "Moffat Monsters" and some brown trout, The 1 1/2 acre pond is stocked with more easily catchable trout for bait fishing for all the family. A third pond contains carp, roach, rudd, bream and tench to 8 pounds.

In addition there is a FULLY refurbished Coffee Shop and Restaurant, a Garden Centre, 12 bay 350 yard Golf Driving Range, and a Childrens play area. Oh and a Tackle shop - I think that's all!!
